Andre Ayew honoured for reaching 100 Premier League appearances

Black Stars captain Andre Ayew has been recognised for reaching a significant milestone in his football career, as he celebrates his century of appearances in the English Premier League.

Ayew made his Premier League debut on August 2015, for Swansea City after parting ways with Olympique Marseille against formidable opponents Chelsea FC. Since then, the hardworking forward has continued his Premier League journey, representing West Ham United before venturing outside of England.

Ayew later joined his current club Nottingham Forest as a free agent at the beginning of February adding to his impressive tally of Premier League appearances.

Throughout his Premier League career, Ayew has made a significant impact on the field. His journey includes 46 appearances for Swansea City, followed by 43 appearances for West Ham United, and 12 appearances for Nottingham Forest.

In addition to his remarkable Premier League milestone, Ayew recently achieved another significant feat by surpassing Asamoah Gyan as the player with the most appearances for the Ghana national team.

Prior to the World Cup, the Black Stars skipper set a new record, breaking Gyan’s 109 appearances. The 34-year-old forward is now Ghana’s most capped player, having accumulated an outstanding total of 113 appearances and contributed 24 goals to the national team.

Ayew’s exceptional skills, leadership qualities, and unwavering commitment have made him a prominent figure in Ghanaian football which stretches from his success in leading the Ghana U-20 team as captain to winning Africa’s first and only U-20 World Cup trophy.

His contributions to both club and country have garnered widespread recognition and admiration.
