Aduana Stars have secured a spot in the quarterfinals of the MTN FA Cup after defeating Asante Kotoko 1-0 in a tightly contested match at the Nana Agyemang Badu II Park on Sunday.

Both teams had some decent chances in the first half, but failed to convert, resulting in a goalless draw at halftime.

However, Aduana were awarded a penalty in the 57th minute when Mohammed Alhassan brought down an Aduana player in the box. Sam Adams stepped up and coolly converted the penalty to give Aduana the lead.

Aduana Stars successfully held off Kotoko’s late pressure to secure their place in the next round, keeping their hopes of a double alive.

Meanwhile, Legon Cities managed to advance to the quarterfinals after surviving a scare and winning 4-3 on penalties against an opponent that fought hard, following a 1-1 draw at regulation time at the El-Wak stadium.

On the other hand, Heart of Lions relinquished their first-half lead and lost 2-1 to Skyy FC at Kpando Park.
