The issue owners of music record labels trying to make sexual advances of their female artists have been known to have risen enormously. Whiles many female artists have confessed in interviews the reason why they left their previous record label was as a result of sexual harassment by managers, others keep it to to themselves.
The owner of Black Avenue Music Desmond Blackmore or better known as D-Black has had his say on this. D-Black told Prince Benjamin on Class FM’s “Drive Show” that he strongly supports female talents without expecting sex in return. He stated he loves to work with those who are dedicated and serious about what they want to do in life.D-Black said identifying and believing in one’s talent is the first step but the second step depends on the artist’s dedication. He believes those who are serious more than him would be able to work with him and when people leave his record label it means they had low drive and dedication but not as a result of sexual harassment. This boils down to the fact that all the artists currently signed to his record label are more serious and dedicated than those who left.D-Black is currently managing two female artists Nina Richie and S3fa after the exit of Freda Rhymz.
