Kotoko supporters lose hope in coach Seydou Zerbo

Asante Kotoko’s Nations Circles Council (NCC) are disappointed in the team’s performance following their inability to remain consistent in recording positive results in the ongoing season.

Given the caliber of players at his disposal, the supporters’ group believe coach Seydou Zerbo is not doing enough to keep the club’s record from last season.

“As NCC, we are not much enthused about the performance of the team so far but we cannot blame them so much because the team is battling with injuries. We are optimistic that as they recover, results will improve.

“Having said that, we are unimpressed with coach Seydou Zerbo’s performance which is why after our defeat to Hearts, we wrote to management to terminate his contract if possible because some of our players who performed well last season have declined drastically under Zerbo,” Alexander Osei Owusu, the spokesperson of the NCC told Akoma FM.

He said that the NCC has decided to keep the coach’s future under wraps until at least the end of the season. According to him, sacking the coach now may have a negative impact on their finances, which is why he pleads with fans to hope for the best for the rest of the season.

“We later rescinded our decision because we have few months left on his contract so we will appeal to the fans to be patient with him and allow him to end the season.

“It will be wrong to sack him now because the club is not financially sound. Let’s all support the team and let the Coach finish with his contract, hopefully, things will change.”

Kotoko are fifth with 31 points on the table with an outstanding match to honour.
