Famous Kenyan singer and songwriter, Victoria Kimani, has revealed that respected Ghanaian dancehall artiste, Stonebwoy, is one of the finest musicians Africa can boast of.
According to the Kenyan songstress, Stonebwoy is a Ghanaian musician she loves listening to due to his amazing talent, consistency and creativity. To her, she is always inspired to write good songs in Kenya just as the Bhim Nation President does in Ghana.
Speaking recently to Joy News at All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) in Accra, Victoria Kimani disclosed that Stonebwoy is one of the top Ghanaian artistes she would consider doing a music collaboration with at any given opportunity. “Stonebwoy is one of the finest dancehall artistes and not just within the dancehall fraternity but a great artiste in Africa, he’s very talented, his melody, the way he writes his music and I’m hoping one day I will be willing to do that,” the singer. The Kenyan songstress in her conversation maintained that although there are a number of dancehall artistes in Ghana, Stonebwoy stands tall among his peers in Ghana music industry.
Victoria Kimani released her “Safari” album last year December 2017 which featured high profile collaborations from stars including Ghana’s Sarkodie, Khuli Chana, Jesse Jagz, Phyno and Ice Prince and she is hopeful to work with more Ghanaian artistes.
Recently, two great artists from South Africa, Cassper Nyovest and Nasty C, including popular Jamaican dancehall artiste, Alkaline have all come out to crown Stonebwoy as the best dancehall musician as against his closest rival, Shatta Wale.
