Ghanaian international and former Black Stars winger Christian Atsu is being laid to rest today, March 17.

The burial service is currently ongoing at the forecourt of the State House in Accra and he will be buried in his hometown, Dogobome on Saturday, March 18.

The 31-year-old was amongst thousands of people who died from the devastating quake that struck the province of Turkey-Syria on February 6.

President Akufo-Addo, Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, former President John Mahama and other dignitaries have since paid their filed past the remains of the former Black Stars player.

Thousands of mourners and well-wishers from Ghana and abroad have also paid their respect to Christian Atsu.

The wife and family of the late Ghanaian international are also at the burial service to bid their fare well.
